Standard agaroses for routine analysis of nucleic acid fragments

D-1 Agarose is available for different uses in 4 types: Low EEO (electroendosmosis), Medium EEO, High EEO.
More reliable and easier handling:
- extraordinary mechanical resistance
- possibility of pore size variation in accordance with particle size to be separated by modifying gel concentration
- easy gel preparation: simple dissolution in aqueous buffers by standard boiling or microwaving
- greater thermal stability due to high hysteresis (difference between gelling and melting temperatures)
- excellent gel transparency and visibility
- exceptionally low absorption of staining agents
- absence of toxicity (unlike polyacrylamide, which is toxic)

Separation range: > 1,000 bp
Optimum gel concentration: 0.75%, 1% and 1.25%
Gelling temperature (1.5%): 36 ± 1.5°C
Melting temperature (1.5%): 88 ± 1.5°C
Applications: suitable for nucleic acid electrophoresis, blotting and radial immunodiffusion of proteins
